Welcome to the USS Ajax!
The USS Ajax operates primarily in the Beta Quadrant, however unlike most ships in the Quadrant, the USS Ajax operates under the orders of Starfleet Intelligence. Carrying a permanently attached four person intelligence team, the Ajax goes places that most other ships wouldn't dare. Covert observation inside Breen space? Done it. Extraction of a friendly target from Romulan Territory? Two weeks ago. Demolition of a strategic resource? We're on our way there now. All this in addition to the standard missions of exploration, patrol, scientific survey, and even the occasional diplomatic function.
After a hiatus, the USS Ajax is returning to BravoFleet's Task Force 99. Under the command of the original Commanding Officer and with a GM staff comprised of previous members of the simm, they have over 60 years combined simming experience. The Ajax was an award winning simulation prior to it's hiatus, becoming the first BravoFleet game to be awarded the Admiralty Unit Citation, and recipient of Task Force 93 Simulation of the Month. Now the Ajax is making its comeback and is looking for new members to carry on its award winning tradition. If you feel you can contribute to the Ajax' story, click the 'Join' button below!

As promised, here's an update on where we stand currently on the transition from 2389 to 2396:
You'll notice the new center image on the main page has changed from a Wallace Class to that of an Aquarius class departing a starbase. This could very well be Ajax leaving Starbase 400.
The manifest page has been updated to reflect the new positions available onboard the Aquarius class. Characters have been promoted to reflect the sim progressing through seven years, unless the player stated otherwise.
I have just finished posting the timeline of events from 2389 through the most current events in 2396. I pulled this from SB400's database, as we share the same timeline. It's a bit of a read. After removing things that were specific to SB400 that the rest of the fleet would, or rather should, be unaware of it comes in at 14 pages in Word. I covered the biggest points, as I saw them, in the 'Reflections' post that opened the new mission 'Again into the Breach'.
That's a perfect lead into telling you about our new mission. As the Federation is currently involved in a war with the Typhon Pact and more and more ships are being pulled into the conflict, meaning there are fewer and fewer to handle the nuisance of pirates and smugglers interfering with Starfleet supply lines. The Ajax is once again sent back into her old stomping grounds in the 'Triangle' to do their best to harass the pirates who have been harassing supply convoys and gather as much intelligence about these pirate cartels as they can. Towards the end of this mission, Ajax will learn of a massive Typhon Pact fleet headed for SB400 and break off from chasing pirates to assist with the defense and evacuation of SB400.
Our very own CPO Ward is working on images of a new deck layout for the Ajax. This is a somewhat tedious process, so please, give him some time to work on these images. While he works on the layout images I'll continue to work on updating the database, including cabin assignments and the like.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please contact myself or one of the other members of the GM staff!

With our transition from Task Force 93 to Task Force 99, comes the chance for some changes and expansions within our game without completely changing our game style. To that end, I would like to introduce the new and improved USS Ajax:
The reasoning behind my introduction of the Aquarius class to the GM’s, who subsequently were unanimous in their approval of changing to this ship class, is as follows.
1. It’s a newer, more state-of-the-art ship with a slightly larger crew complement, a total of 26 compared to our current 15. It lets us expand our crew to open up some new positions without any drastic changes to our ‘small ship tight knit crew’ feel.
2. It packs a bigger punch in the weapons category and greatly increases our speed, minor details as far as the plot is concerned, but makes this a lot more reasonable for how we are able to conduct the missions we do In-Character.
3. It has a larger number of images available to use than the Wallace class does. That’s one of the major downsides to the Wallace, there are very few available images of it.
4. Last, but not least I think this is going to make the transition the easiest it can be in terms of our characters. As I see it, we have 3 options for our characters. The first is we can create new characters based specifically on the new timeline and go from there. Second, we can simply change the date in our bio’s to match the new simming year. Lastly, we can actually age our characters up to the current year, including career advancement and promotions that would have been harder to have be more realistic on such a small ship like the Wallace. Now we have the option for a few more officers and a reasonable number of senior NCO’s to oversee the newer, younger members of the crew that would be joining the game in the future when we pick up our recruiting efforts.
I’ve already spoken to several of you about what option you’d like to take for your characters and have gotten some answers. In the coming week I will continue to update the site as we prepare to finish up ‘Urgent Rescue’ and transition to 2396 and the new timeline. As we come closer to the transition, I will continue to post updates about what the sim will be doing, where we will be, and the overall situation in our new timeline. I look forward to hearing what every decides for their characters and to continue our writing adventures together in this new timeline.
